The following chart that lists some of the skills that you will come across as you
begin the process of taking control of your life. Rate each item as it relates
to you today. As indicated below, a 1 indicates that you "almost never" exhibit
this type of behavior, while a 5 indicates that you "almost always" exhibit this
type of behavior. Remember, we are trying to get a good gauge as to where you stand
today, so don't worry about how you score. The important thing is to be honest with
yourself. Fill in a ranking for all 7 items below and then total those items.

3=Half the time 4=Usually
5=Almost Always

If your Skills Total number is 28 or above, then you
should consider this number to be high; which means you are starting off with a
good, solid foundation.
If the number is low (say 14 or below), it simply means you have a weak foundation.
This is going to result in more work on your part because you will constantly need
to reinforce your foundation as you attempt to build new skills and accomplish new
goals.
Finally, if your Skills Total lies somewhere between
14 and 28, then your foundation is ok. There is still plenty of room for improvement,
but at least you can get by in most cases.
